DavidShanMember Posts: 1 Newbie. January 2018 edited November 15. Hi, I have an Acer Aspire R14 laptop, and it's black screen after power on recently. I guess it is caused by the failed BIOS update by Window 10 automatically updates. I saw that Acer has the following BIOS update on 11/13/2017 to fix abnormal display issue.
Thenpress & hold the power button for 30 secs. Later insert the battery and restart the unit. Let me know what happens.. Hit Accept if its useful. UpdateBIOS. Download this file. Copy this file to a flash drive and insert into the USB port. Simultaneously press the Fn key, Esc key and power button until the power light comes on. The light should then start to blink. Let the laptop run from 1-7 minutes and the problem should be fixed.

Openthe top cover, press and hold the power button for 1 minute. Connect the battery back on the back of computer. Connect the charger cable back and then turn on the computer.
